Love Jumi, phenomenal cheese made by them (run whole supply chain working with farmers in Switzerland), beautiful shop, host fantastic events (fondue & raclette) and the staff are great! Always helpful and pleasunt. We are obsessed with the cheese toasties as well (also they make their own bread), great value with a beer!
Visited this shop on Sunday - the cheese toastie was amazing. We also tasted and bought some cheese, Amy who served us was really welcoming and knowledgeable.
First time having a toastie here at this mainstay of Newington Green. Delicious, dense homemade bread toasted for ages so the cheese forms a beautiful crust where it spills out. Very very nice. Loyalty card is a good idea. And they sell lots of cheese and loaves. I was served by Olivier, who is very helpful, charming and dedicated to the place where he works!
OMcheeseyG! What a place! I was given a gift voucher for this place and bought a selection of amazing cheeses today, plus a lovely fragrant light wholemeal baguette straight from the oven and some of Molly's Crackers. All totally delicious and a real treat. The gift voucher is a mini cheese board, which is a great touch. The process of discussing cheese likes and dislikes - old/young, animal, soft/hard, amount of mould, flavored/not, gooey, rinded, etc - was really enjoyable, with the shop staff's envious knowledge and patience with my indecision in the face of such a sweetie-shop array. I went for some old Sclossberger (strong, assertive with some beautiful structural cracks that generate inviting crumbles), some classic young emmental ( totally different from supermarket rubbery sweet stuff, with oodles of melt in the mouth bittery fragrant butteryness) and an immense soft creamy powerful sheepy blue. Go and get yourself and friends and family cheesed up immediately! You will not regret it.
